1-year-old boy drowns at Lower Pomeroon
A one-year-old boy is now dead after he drowned today at Grant Kitty, Lower Pomeroon. Dead is Jeremiah Rodrigues of Lower Pomeroon River, Essequibo.
The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) incident occurred at about 09:30h.
Reports are that around 08:30h today, the boy's mother, Dacia Torres, left her home and went to work a short distance away, leaving her two-month-old baby and Jeremiah at home.
At about 09:30h, Dacia's sister Candaci Torres shouted for her and told her that Jeremiah “is floating in the trench.”
The toddler's motionless body was taken out of the water and transported to the Charity Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a Doctor on duty.
