18-year-old remanded for attempted murder of 15-year-old boy

An 18-year-old male, who allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old boy during a brawl, was on Monday slapped with an attempted murder charge and remanded to prison.
Cladius James was hauled before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaac-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
The charge alleged that on February 22, 2022, at Stabroek Market, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded the 15-year-old with the intent to murder.
The prosecutor objected to bail, noting that the victim is still hospitalized in a city hospital. As such, Magistrate Marcus remanded the teen until March 21, 2022.
The court heard that James and the victim’s brother had a previous issue, and on the day in question, a fight ensued between the two, in which, James stabbed the teen in the process.
