189 grams of marijuana found under Stabroek Market clock
During a random search by a party of ranks from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), 189 grams of marijuana were found under the Stabroek Market clock on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said that between 22:00h and 23:30h, ranks from Regional Division 4 ‘A’ conducted random searches at the Stabroek Market Square and several persons were stopped and searched, but nothing illegal was found.
However, a search around several stalls under the Stabroek Market clock unearthed a black plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The marijuana was taken to the Brickdam Police Station, where it weighed 189 grams. The CCU said no arrests were made.
