In a statement, the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said that Officers at the CJIA intercepted an outgoing female passenger destined for the United States of America (USA) with a large quantity of suspected cocaine concealed in biscuit wrappers in her carry-on luggage.
Unique Sunshine London, Lot 54 Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters with the suspected cocaine.
The narcotics tested positive for cocaine and amounted to 11.188 kilograms with a street value of $12.3 million and US$336,000 if landed in the USA.
According to CANU, while investigating London, a male passenger attempted to smuggle six finches concealed in hair rollers.
