Five Guyanese on Saturday night went home with over $500,000 each as Digicel Guyana concluded its Summer ‘Cash Vault’ promotion at the MovieTowne Tarmac.

Those that won were Maveline Johnson, Abigail Garrett, Melessa Dabydeen, Preston King, and Sherwin Goring.

Johnson grabbed $88,000, Garrett grabbed $219,000, Dabydeen grabbed $187,000, King snatched $119,000 while Goring got $150,000. To wrap the promotion up with a bang, Digicel gave the contestants an extra $500,000.

Speaking at the final drawing, Digicel’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gregory Dean said that the company is a “bit disappointed” that Guyanese did not get to walk away with millions each.

“We are a bit disappointed that people did not win a lot more, but hopefully, we have to relook at some of the promotion and ensure that people win a few millions,” Dean noted while revealing that the telecommunications giant will be rolling out several competitions for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

On July 14, Digicel launched its Summer ‘Cash Vault’ promotion, giving its prepaid customers a chance to grab up to $3 million in cash.

All customers had to do was top up with $1000 or more, either by scratch card or electronically, to collect the letters to spell the word C-A-S-H.

The promotion, which ran from July 15 to August 25, saw 10 persons spelling the word C-A-S-H. Members of the media were also given an opportunity to go into the vault and grab cash.
