Updated: May 27, 2022

A 63-year-old man has been fined $40,000 after admitting to stealing mirrors from two different motorcars.

Brian Robinson of King Street, Georgetown, was hauled before Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to the charges.

The charges stated that on April 11, 2022, at Brickdam, he stole a car mirror belonging to Robin Oswald and two-car mirrors belonging to Bibi Seeraj.

Reports are that on the day in question, Oswald was sitting in his motorcar when he noticed Robinson taking off his car mirror through the window. Oswald then came out of the car and apprehended Robinson, who already had the mirror in his possession.

Further, it was reported that the second virtual complainant parked and secured her motorcar in a parking lot, but upon returning, she noticed the mirrors were missing.

She then made a report at the police station, and the defendant was arrested, and the mirrors were found.
