Acting Chief Magistrate among 10 new Puisné Judges appointed
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the appointment of 10 new Puisné judges to the judiciary—the largest batch ever.
Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus is among the appointees. The others are Nicole Pierre, Joy Persaud-Singh, Hesaun Yasin, Deborah Kumar-Chetty, Nigel Niles, Peter Hugh, Priscilla Chandra-Hanif, Jacqueline Josiah-Graham, and Zamina Ally-Seepaul.
These persons will take the oath of office before President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Wednesday at 15:00h.
In a brief statement, the JSC explained that 37 persons applied for the position following the advertisement.
“They were all interviewed, and the 10 persons were selected,” the Commission noted.
