The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the appointment of 10 new Puisné judges to the judiciary—the largest batch ever.
Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus is among the appointees. The others are Nicole Pierre, Joy Persaud-Singh, Hesaun Yasin, Deborah Kumar-Chetty, Nigel Niles, Peter Hugh, Priscilla Chandra-Hanif, Jacqueline Josiah-Graham, and Zamina Ally-Seepaul.
These persons will take the oath of office before President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Wednesday at 15:00h.
In a brief statement, the JSC explained that 37 persons applied for the position following the advertisement.
“They were all interviewed, and the 10 persons were selected,” the Commission noted.
