All public sector employees to earn no less than $100,000 by 2025
To build on previous adjustments, President Dr. Irfaan Ali committed on Thursday to raise the minimum monthly salary for all public sector employees to $100,000 by the end of 2025.
Addressing the 12th sitting of the National Assembly, the Head of State stated that this move aims to improve the livelihood of thousands of public sector workers and reduce income disparities across the country.
“This is how we build prosperity,” President Ali declared. “This is how we reduce disparity. This is how we build equity in the system. Real action, real work, real policy—all in the interest of our people.”
According to President Ali, the increase in the minimum wage will translate into more than $1 billion in disposable income for public sector employees.
