Two armed men on Thursday night robbed a Solider of his iPhone 13 Pro valued at $300,0000 at South Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie Linden.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Shilon Lawrence, of Lot 273 South Amelia's Ward, Mackenzie Linden.

In a statement, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said that the victim went home with his motorcycle, CL 2521, and parked it in his yard. He then went inside and secured his jewellery.

He subsequently proceeded outside to relax on his verandah when he was confronted by two men, who jumped onto his verandah and hit him in the head with their firearms, causing him to receive injuries.

He told investigators that one of the men was clothed in a blue shirt and three-quarter pants, while his accomplice was dressed in pink coloured clothing with his face covered.

They then took his cell phone and his motorcycle key out of his hand, and the suspect in the blue shirt discharged a shot in the air before escaping on foot in an eastern direction.

According to the Police, the scene was visited, and one suspected .32 spent shell was recovered in the verandah where it was lodged. Lawrence was treated at a medical facility and sent away. Investigations are ongoing.
