Police are hunting for two armed bandits, who stormed the Trini’s Superbet, located at Timehri Base Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD), and carted off over $500,000 in cash. MTV News Update understands that five persons were robbed at about 21:20h.

Nitisha Klass, a 26-year-old Cashier, was robbed of $400,000, property of the Guyana Lottery Company. She was joined by 23-year-old Kevin Fraser, who was robbed of a black Samsung J4 cellular phone with a sim card valued at $15,000.

The third person that was robbed is 47-year-old Bevil Budhai. He was robbed of a blue ZTI cellular phone valued at $25,000. The fourth person was 38-year-old Devindra Ramkisson. He was robbed of one black Samsung S32 valued at $68,000 and $300,000 in cash, property of the Pearl Maul Trading Company.

The last person, 25-year-old Kristopher James, was robbed of a silver chain valued at $20,000.

Reports are that Klass was operating her business when the two masked men rushed into the shop – one armed with a handgun – and demanded that she hand over her jewellery and money. Scared for her life, she handed over the $400,000.

The other four victims, who were customers at the time, were held at gunpoint, and the two suspects relieved them of the items and cash.

After committing the robbery, the two suspects exited the shop, discharged a round in the air, and escaped on foot in a northern direction.

According to Police, they are yet to review CCTV footage from the area. Also, several persons were arrested, but no useful information was obtained. An investigation is in progress.
