Bartica Grand Table Tennis Tournament set for this weekend

Bartica will be hosting their Grand Table Tennis Tournament as the sport re-emerges from the pandemic within the region.

The Bartica Table Tennis Steering Committee is set to host its first tournament of the year for players within the region.

The Grand Table Tennis Tournament will begin this Saturday, March 26th at 10 am sharp and conclude on Sunday, March 27th at the Bartica Community Centre Ground.

The tournament is open to all table tennis players in Bartica between the ages of 13 to 18.

This tournament follows a recently conducted 12-hour Development Table Tennis Coaching Course for Primary/Secondary School Teachers in the region.

This was facilitated by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in collaboration with the National Sports Commission.

The programme serves to enhance the coaching, officiating and umpiring structures of administrators.

Teachers from seven primary schools and two secondary schools benefitted.

The Committee also recently benefitted from several donations of tables, balls and rackets.

Tournament winners will be rewarded with trophies and medals.
