Body found in East Ruimveldt with suspected gunshot wound identified as Lindener
The body, which was found at Self Help Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, with a suspected gunshot wound on Sunday, has been identified as Dexter Lynch, 49, of Madewini, Linden-Soesdyke, Highway.
Lynch, a vendor, was identified by his 59-year-old brother, Cedric Warrick, on Monday, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said.
MTV News Update previously reported that at about 03:05h on Sunday, an unknown caller reported to the Police that a male was seen lying on the roadway in Self Help Square, East Ruimveldt.
Ranks were dispatched to the scene, and Lynch was found lying face down, clad in a black Capri pants, a multi-coloured shirt with a blue hooded long-sleeve sweater, and a black toque on his head.
He was also seen with a suspected gunshot wound to the left side abdomen. The Police processed the scene, and one .40 suspected spent shells were recovered about 6 feet south of the body.
A black and red Jordan haversack, containing two bottles of Hennessey, two male colognes, two male body sprays, two knives, and $18,860 cash were also found next to the victim's body.
Lynch's body is at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting Post Mortem Examination (PME) and identification.
