Body of man, 49, found at Montrose

The body of Zaheer Karim Bacchus, 49, was found at Fourth Street Montrose, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Monday.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said that at about 12:40h, an anonymous caller reached out to the Police, informing them that the body of a male was seen lying motionless at Fourth Street Montrose, ECD.

The Police patrol responded and found the body of Bacchus, of no fixed place of abode, lying motionless, clad in black shorts.

“A physical check was done on the body, and no marks of violence were seen. The Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) were summoned, and a doctor pronounced Bacchus dead,” the GPF said.

The body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
