Body of man, 57, found in Georgetown apartment
The decomposed body of 57-year-old Anthony Kissoon was discovered at his Hadfield Street apartment on Tuesday.
The discovery was made around 15:50h by the dead man’s cousin, Fredrick Kissoon, who had grown concerned after not hearing from Anthony for some time.
According to reports, Anthony, who lived alone at Lot 72 Hadfield Street, had complained of feeling unwell on several occasions. On the day of the discovery, Fredrick decided to check on his cousin.
As he entered the yard, he was met with a foul odour from the apartment. Upon entering the premises, Fredrick found Anthony lying unresponsive on the northern side of his bedroom floor.
Detectives from the Georgetown Police Force were quickly dispatched to the scene. After a thorough investigation, including a scene examination by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Crime Laboratory team, no signs of injury were found on the body.
Emergency medical services were also summoned, and the man’s body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it will remain pending a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected at this time, the Police noted.
