Body of Triumph security guard found floating in canal
The body of Leon Dass, a 42-year-old security guard of Triumph, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was discovered floating in a canal along Agriculture Road on Thursday afternoon.
Reports are that the body was discovered by a resident and was seen floating in the eastern canal on Agriculture Road. At the time of the discovery, the security guard was clothed in a green T-shirt, short black ripped jeans, and black and white sneakers.
Crime sleuths were summoned to the scene, and the man’s body was fished out of the canal. Although the police stated that there were no visible signs of violence on Dass's body and that he might have drowned, his family suspects that foul play may have been involved in his death.
A Post Mortem Examination (PME) is slated for Monday.
