Body of unidentified man found floating next to Anna Catherina Seawall

The body of an unidentified man was found on Tuesday floating next to the Anna Catherina Seawall on the West Coast of Demerara.

The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said that at about 16:40h, an unknown caller contacted the Leonora Police Station Operations room and reported that a body was seen floating.

Police ranks were dispatched to the scene, and on arrival, the body of a male of East Indian descent was found floating about 20 feet away from the Seawall.

The body was clothed in a short pants and a green shirt. The partially decomposed body was then fished out of the water, and no mark of violence was seen.

The body is at the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting Identification and a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
