Suyjit Ramotar, 53, who Police say confessed to the murder of Joshua Hardatt, also known as ‘Money,’ a 25-year-old welder of Lot 371 Bloomfield Village, Corentyne, was found dead in the Whim Police Station on Saturday.
The dead man’s brother Dalim Ramotar, during an exclusive interview with MTV News Update, relayed that police called the family shortly after 17:00h and asked them to visit the station.
Upon arrival, they were informed that their brother had committed suicide while in the lockups.

He added, “The position how he [is], we don’t know if he committed suicide because they put us out of the station and locked the gate. We want to know what is really going on."
Suyjit, called ‘Mono’ of Lot 72 Section ‘B’ Letter Kenny Village, East Corentyne, Berbice, was recently released from prison.
Police had said that Suyjit confessed to murdering Hardatt because he was allegedly having an affair with his wife while he was incarcerated. After confronting Hardatt, who denied the allegation, Suyjit reportedly dealt the 25-year-old welder several blows to his body.
Initial investigations revealed that Hardatt left his residence in his car on May 21, 2024, and his family received a call the following day informing them that his vehicle was spotted on Auchlyne Cultivating Dam.
Upon being informed, the police visited the scene and found Hardatt’s lifeless body in the back passenger seat of his car. He was lying face down in a crouching position, with visible marks of violence on his face and forehead and a wound on the back of his head.
