Businessman busted with unlicensed firearm, ammo and ganja


Arrested: Andrew Williams

Andrew Williams, a 35-year-old businessman of Train Line, Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD), was arrested on Tuesday following the discovery of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of marijuana in his house.

Reports are that between 19:05 and 19:50h, a team of ranks from Port Kaituma Police Station conducted a search on Williams's dwelling house.


During the search, one 9 MM Pistol with one magazine containing six matching rounds of ammunition along with 299.7 grams of marijuana were found.

When questioned by the ranks on whether he was the holder of a firearm license, Williams, who also resides in William Street, Kitty, Georgetown, reportedly remained silent.


He was told of the allegations, arrested, and taken to the Port Kaituma Police Station, where he is in custody pending charges.
