Car flips several times on Coomacka Mines Access Road, killing 19-year-old female
A 19-year-old female met her demise on Saturday after the car she was in turned turtle on the Coomacka Mines Access Road.
The dead woman has been identified as Tiffany Forde of Coomacka Mines in Region 10.
According to the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the accident occurred at about 02:30h and involved motorcar PXX 7789, which Jermaine Lewis, 28, drove. 22-year-old Joel Rawlins, also of Coomacka Mines, was also an occupant in the car.
Reports are that the car was proceeding north along the eastern side of Coomacka Mines Access Road at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control, which flipped several times before coming to a halt on the northern side of the road.
As a result, Forde, who was in the left front seat, received injuries on her body. She was picked up by an Ambulance in an unconscious state and rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Her body is at the Linden Hospital’s mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
The driver and the other occupant were taken to the Mackenzie Police Station, assisting with the investigation.
A breathalyser test was conducted on the driver, and the readings were .29 and .31 micrograms, respectively.
