Coldingen man nabbed with ganja, ammo

A 46-year-old man of Coldingen, East Coast Demerara (ECD) has landed himself in hot water after arrested on Saturday with quantity of marijuana and ammunition.

According to the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), between 13:00h and 15:30h, Police ranks conducted a cordon-and-search exercise in the Vigilance Station District, where the home of the 46-year-old suspect was searched.

A transparent plastic bag was found in the kitchen area, containing several zip-lock bags with leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.

The law enforcement officers carried out a further search in the bedroom, where two 12-gauge cartridges were found in a drawer.

The suspect denied ownership and was escorted to the Vigilance Police Station, where the suspected cannabis amounted to 42.2 grams. Investigations are ongoing.
