Conductor, 19, beaten, robbed of cellphone at 31 bus park
A 19-year-old bus conductor was on Tuesday beaten and robbed of his cellphone while working on Cornhill and Brickdam Access Road in the vicinity of the 31-bus park.
The victim has been identified as Quintin Crandon. The suspects are a 23-year-old male of North Road Lacytown and a 24-year-old of Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that Crandon was working when he was attacked by the two suspects who dealt him several cuffs about his body.
As a result, he fell to the ground, and one of the suspects took away his cellphone, which was in his pants pocket, before making good their escape.
During the incident, a Police Patrol was passing and gave chase behind the suspects and apprehended them.
A search was carried out on the suspects, and the victim’s cellular phone was recovered. Both suspects are in custody, assisting with investigations.
