Construction worker remanded for illegal ammo, narcotic possession
A construction worker was slapped with several charges on Monday and remanded to prison.
Jamal Anthony, 27, of Hope Estate, East Coast Demerara (ECD), and Guyhoc Park Squatting Area, Georgetown, was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court.
He was charged with possession of eight 12-gauge shotgun cartridges and four .38 rounds of ammunition without being the holder of a firearm license.
He was further charged with possession of 42 grams of cannabis and cultivating a prohibited plant. The construction worker was arrested on February 14.
After the charges were read to him, Anthony denied all. He was refused bail and was remanded to prison. The case was adjourned to March 26, 224, and transferred to the Cove and John Magistrate's Court.
