“Convict” on remand for illegal possession of gun, ammo

David Lynch of 259 Independence Boulevard, La Penitence, Georgetown has been remanded to prison for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
When the 44-year-old man, also known as “Convict,” appeared today before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded not guilty to the offences.
It is alleged that on April 6, 2022, at Independence Boulevard, La Penitence, he had one 9mm Glock 17 pistol in possession without being the holder of a firearm license.
It is also alleged that he had four 9mm ammunition in his possession without being the holder of a firearm license.
Reports are that on the day in question, ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) conducted an intelligence-led operation at the address during which the gun and ammunition were unearthed.
Following the discovery, Lynch was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters with the firearm and ammunition. Lynch will make his next court appearance on May 13.
