Two serving members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) were on Friday slapped with drug trafficking charges and released on $200,000 bail each.

25-year-old Lance Corporal Andre Roland of Foulis, East Coast Demerara (ECD), and Corporal Kevin Bobb, 38, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden, were arraigned before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The duo denied the charge, which stated that on June 14, 2022, at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters, they had 680 grams of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The cops were released on $200,000 bail, and the matter was adjourned to October 7. The condition for bail is that the two report to the Major Crime Unit every other Monday.
