Crane teacher died of haemorrhage after blunt trauma - PME

Dead: Omega Ault

A Post Mortem Examination (PME) conducted on 41-year-old Omega Ault, who was found in a state of decomposition at her Crane, West Coast Demerara (WCD) home on Friday, has found that she died as a result of bleeding in the brain caused by blunt trauma to the head.

The PME was performed at the Ezekiel Funeral Home by Government Pathologist Nehaul Singh.

Omega, a teacher of Crane Public Road, WCD, was found on Friday last at about 17:00h by her brother, who had been calling her for the last two weeks but was not getting through.

As a result, he went to her home, and after calling out for her, he did not get any response. This prompted him to go inside, where a high stench was detected coming from the bedroom.

He went into the front bedroom and saw his sister’s body lying motionless in a decomposed state. He then reported the matter to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station, after which a party of police ranks visited the scene.

Omega and her husband, Clarence Farley in happier times.

Reports are that the woman was living with her husband and three-year-old son but was encountering “problems” in her marriage.

It was revealed that four days ago, the woman’s husband took their son to his aunt and told her that he was heading into the “backdam.”

Since then, he has not been seen. Following the gruesome discovery, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) issued a wanted bulletin for him. He has been identified as Clarence Farley.

Police today said that his vehicle was recovered parked at a lumber yard at Coverden, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
