A 41-year-old man from Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara (ECD), was nabbed by Police after he was found with an illegal gun and a quantity of raw gold at the Supenaam Stelling.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that at about 04:10h on Sunday, ranks on patrol at the Supenaam Setting saw a man acting suspiciously.

They carried out a search and found an unlicensed black 9MM Luger pistol and six live matching rounds as well as 16 ounces and four pennyweight of raw gold in a haversack the man was carrying.

The 41-year-old man was arrested and is in Police custody, assisting with the investigation.
