De William man caught with over 800 grams of cocaine

A 26-year-old man of De William, West Coast Demerara (WCD), was on Saturday arrested by ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) with over 800 grams of cocaine.
Reports are that on the day in question, CANU conducted an operation at the Meten-Meer-Zorg Seawall dam and caught Larenzo Shewran of Area “G” De William with a black plastic bag.
A subsequent search was conducted on the bag, which led to the discovery of a quantity of a whitish rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine.
Shewran was escorted to CANU’s headquarters with the suspected narcotics, which tested positive for cocaine and weighed 824 grams. Investigations are ongoing.
