Driver, 45, dies after speeding car flips, lands in trench
A 45-year-old man was killed on Sunday after he lost control of his motorcar, causing it to topple several times before coming to a halt in a nearby trench.
Dead is Omar Khan of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD). The accident occurred at about 14:50h.
The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that Khan was driving motorcar PKK 4289 and was proceeding south along Melsha Access Road, Mon Repos, ECD, at a fast rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to toppled several times before coming to a halt in a nearby trench.
The man was pulled out of the motorcar by public-spirited persons in an unconscious state. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced him dead at the scene.
Khan’s body was subsequently escorted to the mortuary awaiting Post Mortem Examination (PME).
