Driver dies after car topples along Unamico Trail
Dave Causway, a resident of Kwakwani, Berbice River, met his demise on Tuesday after the car he was driving toppled along the Unamico Trail.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that Causway was driving north along the western side of the trail at a high speed while descending a hill.
As he attempted to navigate a right turn, he lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop, pinning him beneath the wreckage.
Public-spirited citizens quickly responded to the accident, extracting Causway from the overturned car and transporting him to the Kwakwani District Hospital.
Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending doctor. The body has since been moved to the Senior Pensioner Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
