Driver shot after men rob Cevons of undisclosed sum of cash
Berthony Cadeau, a 33-year-old driver of Cevons Waste Management, was shot and injured after two masked men robbed the company of an undisclosed sum of cash on Saturday.
The incident occurred at the company’s Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt location.
According to reports, Cadeau was inside the office with Ruth Chase, 31, an employee who was in the process of paying salaries to staff.
The two armed suspects entered the building and demanded money. One of the suspects then fired two shots, one of which struck Cadeau.
During the robbery, the suspects also took Chase’s cell phone, which was later found to have no SIM card and an undisclosed amount of cash belonging to the waste management company.
The suspects fled the scene on a black motorcycle. The police were alerted, and the scene was processed, leading to the recovery of two spent .32 shells and a warhead.
Cadeau was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment and is said to be in stable condition. Investigations into the robbery are ongoing as the police work to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice.
