Adolph Joseph and Ewert Calistro have been acquitted of the murder of Roy Ross, who was found dead in his Swan Village, Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway house on April 05, 2021.

The duo was on trial before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow in the Demerara High Court. The 12-member jury returned unanimously not guilty on murder and 10-2 on manslaughter for the men.

Attorney-at-law Kiswana Jefford represented Calistro, while attorney-at-law Ronald Daniels appeared for Joseph.

Ross’ lifeless body was found lying in a pool of blood in his living room on April 05, 2021, by a neighbour. At the time of the discovery, the man’s body bore multiple stab wounds.

Killed: Roy Ross

Reports had suggested that Ross, who was 24 at the time of his death, was seen alive around 23:00h the day before.

The morning after Ross was discovered dead, Police had said they arrested several persons, including Calistro, who confessed to the murder.

They claimed that Calistro implicated Joseph as the person who inflicted the stab wounds on Ross.
