DVA Volleyball League postponed

The Demerara Volleyball Association had been hoping to kick off the year with their league which has now been postponed for the second time.


The Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA’s) first quarter league was initially slated to commence on January 11th and conclude on March 29th.


It was initially postponed by a week, with the new date set as January 18th to April 1st.

However, the Guyana Volleyball Federations says they have now been informed by the National Covid-19 task force that all sporting activities have currently been suspended.


The first quarter league is slated to be played between five (5) teams; Eagles Volleyball Club, Castrol Strikers Volleyball Club, Young Achievers Volleyball Club, Guyana Defence Force Volleyball Club and Venguy volleyball club.


The exciting three months of volleyball action was expected to begin with Eagles Volleyball Club taking on the Guyana Defence Force at cliff Anderson sports hall on Homestretch Avenue.
