Essequibo Coast labourer slapped with attempted murder charge
Joel Benjamin, a 37-year-old labourer of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was slapped with an attempted murder charge and remanded to prison.
Benjamin was hauled before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke in the Suddie Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him.
He is accused of committing the offence on April 2, 2024, at Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, on Jonathan Singh, a miner.
During the proceedings, the prosecutor objected to bail, resulting in the accused being remanded to prison. The case has been adjourned to April 25, 2024.
