First-ever Champion of Champions Rodeo set for Nov 26

A new rodeo event hits Lethem this November 26 with the Champion of Champions one-day rodeo set at Tabatinga, Lethem.

This event will feature the best and wildest riders, kings and queens of every rodeo held within the Rupununi converge at one location to compete for the title crown.

The Annual Rupununi Easter rodeo takes place over the two-day period but this event is hosted in the early dry season when round ups are continuous as ranches and villages take the opportunity as rains ease to check on their cattle.

Cowboys and Cowgirls from the Rupununi Ranchers Rodeo, Sand Creek Rodeo, Aishalton Rodeo, Katoka Rodeo and Arnaputa Rodeo are all set to face off in various events including Saddle and Bareback Bronco and bull riding among others.

President of the Rupununi Livestock Producers Association (RLPA), Rebecca Rodrigues-Faria indicated the board’s excitement in sharing this first-time experience with the Guyanese and International patrons.

There will be other family activities at the event such as Rupununi cuisine, arts, games and we close the event with a live Forro Band from neighbouring Brazil.
