Four friends to appear in court for disorderly behaviour at roadblock

Four friends are expected to be hauled before the Diamond Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for disorderly behaviour.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said that at about 21:15h on Monday, ranks were conducting a roadblock exercise at Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD), when a land cruiser bearing registration number PAE 528 was stopped.

The GPF identified the driver as Paul Daby, a 29-year-old from 127 D’Aguiar Park. He allegedly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road, preventing the free flow of traffic.

It is further alleged that Daby and his three friends: Deion Jerrick, Sherwayne De Abreau, and Alpha Poole, became verbally abusive towards the police officers and proceeded to behave in a disorderly manner, which resulted in a crowd gathering.

According to the Police Force, the ranks continued to carry out their duties, and the men and the vehicle were searched. No illegal items were found.
