The People Progressive Party (PPP/C) administration in its manifesto committed to distribute a total of 50,000 scholarships to Guyanese over a five year period.
One such way the administration is fulfilling this commitment is through the Guyana Online Academy (GOAL) scholarship programme.
The administration last year awarded over 6000 scholarships to Guyanese and will be continuing such this year.
The Ministry of Public Service has announced that the Government has collaborated with four universities this year for the GOAL scholarship programme.
Among the Universities are: the University of the West Indies (open campus), University of Southern Caribbean, Structuralia Universidad Internacional Isabell Land and Jain.
At the University of the West Indies courses will be offered in areas of event management, garment construction, jewelry making, massage therapy among others while at the Structuralia Universidad Internacional Isabell Land courses will be offered in the areas of MSc Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies, MSc Disaster Risk Management and Climate Governance among others.
At the Universities of Southern Caribbean and Jain courses are being offered in areas of BBA aviation Management, BBA Digital Marketing ,BBA Computer Applications, BSc Special Education and BSc Nursing respectively.
Applications for can be accessed on the GOAL website and are open from the 17th January and closes on the 18th February, 2021.All persons 18 years and older are encouraged to apply.
