Guyana’s Health Advisor appointed Ambassador to Switzerland
Former Minister of Health Dr. Leslie Ramsammy has been appointed Ambassador-designate to Switzerland. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation announced this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, Dr. Ramsammy, the Health Advisor to the Minister of Health, will also assume responsibilities as Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
Dr. Ramsammy served as Guyana’s Minister of Health from 2001 to 2011. After that, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture, where he remained until 2015 when his party lost the election.
When the Irfaan Ali-led Administration took office in 2020, Dr. Ramsammy was appointed Advisor to the Ministry of Health.
