Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony says data is currently being collected from 120 different vaccination sites on a daily basis which could sometimes have a duplication of information.
He said this exercise would ensure that there is no forged data being inputted into the system. The digitising system will allow for the replacement of vaccine cards to be made easier.
“So, cleaning the data is a very important exercise and while we’re cleaning the data, we’re also digitizing it, so that if somebody would need a replacement card, it's much easier to be able to get in this electronic database," Minister Anthony stated.
Minister Anthony warned that persons who are holders of fake vaccination cards will be dealt with by the relevant authorities.
He warned, “If we discover any forgery well then we’ll turn that information to the police so that they can take the relevant actions.”
So far, 64.7% of adults and 33.7% of children ages 12-17 have been fully vaccinated.
