Hire car driver on bail for gun and ammo possession

Selwyn Gray, a 46-year-old hire car driver, was on Friday hauled before the court to answer to two firearm-related charges.
Gray of Leeds Village in Corentyne, Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Michelle Matthias in the Albion Magistrate’s Court and denied the charges when they were read to him.

He was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without being the holder of a license. Both charges were laid under Section 16(2)(a) of the Firearms Act, Chapter 16:05.
The defendant was placed on $400,000 bail, and the case was adjourned until August 13 for reports.
