“Hot Skull” pleads not guilty to murder of Better Hope pensioner
Sherwin Clarke, who is accused of the 2016 murder of Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) businessman David Ramkissoon, today pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Clarke, 32, was arraigned before Justice Sandil Kissoon at the High Court in Demerara, where a 12-member mixed jury was empanelled.
The charge against Clarke alleged that on August 21, 2016, at Better Hope, ECD, he murdered Ramkissoon, 76, during the course or furtherance of a robbery.
The murder accused is being represented by Attorney-at-Law Damian Da Silva. The State is expected to call eight witnesses during the trial.
According to media reports, Ramkissoon, also known as “Short Man,” a father of five, was discovered in a pool of blood with his throat slit in his living room by his son, who had returned home from a family outing.
