‘Jack of All Trades’ on bail for assaulting police officer, using threatening language
Twenty-six-year-old Nicholas Escott, who considers himself a ‘jack of all trades,’ was granted bail after facing charges of assault and using threatening language.
The defendant was hauled before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts and denied the charges when they were read to him.
The first charge alleges that on September 30, 2024, at the East La Penitence Police Station, Escott unlawfully assaulted police officer Alaska Burnett while he was performing his duties.
Escott was also charged with using threatening language toward Dexter Thomas on the same day at the same location.
The 26-year-old man was released on $35,000 bail, and the case was adjourned to November 11, 2024.
