Linden teacher was stabbed 30 times - PME

L-R: Leston Baynes and Kelly Charlotte

Twenty-two-year-old Kelly Charlotte, who was killed by her child father, Leston Baynes, was stabbed 30 times, a Post Mortem Examination (PME) revealed on Wednesday.

The PME was performed by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Crematorium.

At the conclusion of the PME, Dr Singh gave the cause of death as multiple incise wounds. The body was later handed over to relatives for burial.

As for Baynes, a PME was also performed on his body, and the cause of death was reported as suicide.

MTV News Update previously reported that Charlotte was murdered at about 21:15h on Sunday.

Reports are that the primary school teacher had ended the relationship with Baynes and was living with her 27-year-old sister at One Mile Extention, Wismar, Linden.

According to the dead woman's sister, the truck driver visited her home at about 10:00h on Sunday and collected his son.

At about 21:15h that day, he returned the child to the house, and Charlotte went to the front door to collect the child.

The 27-year-old woman stated that she was in the kitchen when she heard the 22-year-old teacher shouting her name.

As a result, she immediately ran to the front of the house, where she saw the 28-year-old man stabbing her sister about her body with a knife. The woman immediately called the police while Banes made good his escape on foot.

The 22-year-old woman was taken to the Linden Hospital Complex by police ranks, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The following day, Baynes was found dead in a house.
