Man, 47, arrested with $3M worth of marijuana
Forty-seven-year-old Raymond Tinnis was today arrested by ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) after being found with $3 million worth of marijuana.
CANU, in a statement, said that officers intercepted a motor car with a sole occupant on the Mahaica Public Road. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a parcel containing suspected cannabis in the vehicle’s trunk.
The 47-year-old man, along with the suspected narcotics, was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters.
The suspected drugs tested positive for cannabis with a total weight of 9.8 kilograms. It had a street value of approximately $3 million. Investigations are ongoing.
