Man accused of robbing cop at knifepoint granted bail
Jomal Jeriah, who is accused of robbing a Policeman at knifepoint, has been granted $100,000 bail.
Jeriah, 27, of Charlotte Street, Georgetown, was hauled before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The 27-year-old man denied the charge, which stated that on April 10, 2024, at Durban Street, Georgetown, while armed with a knife, he robbed a Police Constable of a Samsung phone valued at $40,000 and $20,000 in cash.
Attorney-at-Law Domnick Bess represented Jeriah, a father of one. The case was adjourned to April 29.
Reports are that the father of one allegedly attacked the Police Constable, who was dressed in his uniform, and robbed him of the phone and cash. The entire ordeal was recorded on CCTV.
