A 22-year-old Pork Knocker, who was arrested for allegedly threatening a shopkeeper, led Police to an area in Region One where he hid an unlicenced firearm.

The Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) reported that the threatening behaviour occurred on July 31, and the 22-year-old suspect was arrested the following day.

During the interrogation, the CCU said that the suspect and several Police ranks went to a bushy area at Barama Line, where a black plastic bag containing a suspected .32 Pistol without a magazine was discovered.

The 22-year-old man was immediately escorted back to the station along with the firearm, the CCU noted. The suspect remains in custody as the investigations continue.
