Man arrested with 4.2 grams of ganja tells Police he used it as medication
Ranks in Region One have taken Cononiah Jupiter into custody after he was allegedly found with marijuana in his pants pocket along the Pakera Road in Matthews Ridge, North West District (NWD) on Sunday.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), at around 17:17h, Regional Commander Krishna Ramana and a team of officers were on mobile patrol when they stopped a vehicle with registration number PAH 4429.
The Commander requested permission to search the car for narcotics, which Jupiter consented to.
During the search, officers discovered two zip-lock bags containing marijuana, as well as two joints. Jupiter was cautioned and admitted that the marijuana was for his personal use and claimed he used it as medication.
He was arrested and transported to the Matthews Ridge Police Station, where the marijuana was weighed, totalling 4.2 grams.
Jupiter remains in custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
