Twenty-five-year-old Deqwan Norton was on Friday remanded to prison for allegedly sexually penetrating a woman after she fell asleep at a house party.
Norton, of Durban Backlands Squatting Area, Georgetown, was hauled before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The charge against Norton is that on August 7, in Georgetown, he sexually penetrated a 29-year-old woman without her consent.
The prosecution contends that the victim was at a friend’s house party when she fell asleep. According to the prosecution, Norton allegedly sexually molested the woman, and she woke up during the act.
