Mechanic caught with ammo in bedroom handed two years jail sentence
Daniel Jose Daza, the 29-year-old mechanic, who was busted with four 12-gauge cartridges in a chest of drawers in his bedroom, was on Tuesday handed a two-year jail sentence and fined $50,000.
Magistrate Abigail Gibbs handed down the sentence in the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court after Daza of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) pleaded guilty to possession of ammunition without a licence.
The 29-year-old mechanic was arrested on May 05, 2024, after a party of police led by an Assistant Superintendent conducted a search of his home and found a toy gun and ammunition in a chest of drawers in his bedroom.
