Mechanic charged with murdering wife
Clarence Farley, who is accused of murdering his wife, Omega Ault, at her Vreed-En-Hoop, West Coast Demerara (WCD) home, was on Monday charged with the heinous crime.
Farley, 40, a mechanic, was hauled before Magistrate Faith McGusty in the Vreed-En-Hoop Magistrate Court and was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
The charge states that between May 23 - 27, 2022, at Crane Public Road, WCD, he murdered 41-year-old Ault. He was remanded to prison until June 27, 2022.
On May 27, Ault was found in a state of decomposition at her Crane, WCD home after calls by her brother, Kevin Ault, went unanswered.
He then went to her home, and after calling out for her, he did not get any response. This prompted him to go inside, where a high stench was detected coming from the bedroom.
He went into the front bedroom and saw his sister’s body lying motionless in a decomposed state. MTV News Update previously reported that Farley and his wife were having “problems” in her marriage.
Following the gruesome discovery, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) issued a wanted bulletin for the accused, and he was arrested one week later at the Malinmar Hotel, located at No. 78 Village, Corriverton, Berbice.
A Post Mortem Examination (PME) conducted on the teacher’s remains found that she died as a result of bleeding in the brain caused by blunt trauma to the head.
