Men flee from CANU, leaving $20M in ganja at Black Bush Polder
On Christmas Day, the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) seized $20 million in marijuana at Black Bush Polder, Region Six.
Reports are that the Unit conducted an operation on the Black Bush Polder Main Road and attempted to intercept a canter bearing licence plate number GYY 2037.
Upon noticing CANU’s ranks, two male occupants exited the canter and fled into the nearby bushes, leaving the vehicle parked along the roadway.
A search was conducted on the canter, and 10 bags containing a number of parcels of suspected cannabis were unearthed.
The suspected narcotics, along with the canter, were escorted to CANU’s Berbice Office. The suspected narcotics tested positive for cannabis, with a total weight of 179.8 kilograms. Investigations are ongoing.
